Music lovers prepare yourselves as the music world takes over live television sets and the online world. The extravaganza that we lovingly refer to as 2014′s 56th annual Grammy Awards is scheduled to go live on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the Los Angeles’ Staples Center. Just in case you don’t have tickets to see it live, you can watch it live on your local CBS station live at 8 PM to 11:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. 2014 Grammys Live Online – Red Carpet & More
There will be a live online presentation called “Fuse Red Carpet: Live @ Grammy’s” starting at 4 p.m. EST on Sunday night. The show will be hosted by correspondent Jack Osbourne and includes interviews with the stars, red carpet fashion, predictions, pre-telecast Grammy award winners and much more. All fans need to do to watch the live online special is head to Fuse.TV/Grammys at 4 p.m. EST. Fans can also send out Tweets using #FuseGrammys on their messages to have a chance to be featured on the show.
There are several live online video feeds over at the Grammy website Live. These live video feeds include a Director’s Cut, Red Carpet, Portrait Cam and Load-in Cam, all of which viewers can switch between during Sunday’s events. Louise Roe, Andrew Burnette, DJ Skee and Quddus will be the hosts for the special live online coverage events on Sunday. The live online feeds are scheduled to start as early as Noon EST on Sunday, or 9 AM Pacific Time.
2014 Grammy Awards Show on Live TV
The Grammy Awards show can be seen on live television via CBS and local CBS affiliate stations around the nation. The show starts up at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and runs through 11:30 p.m. EST with all the biggest awards, performances and presenters being seen live. Rap star and actor LL Cool J will be this year’s show host. Hardcore music fans won’t want to miss watching the live show.
Top Nominees For 2014 Grammy Awards
Rap star Jay-Z led all nominees with a total of nine nominations this year, however he failed to capture a Best Album nomination. Still S. Carter won’t mind if he wins a few more trophies to add to his growing collection over the years. Both he and wife Beyonce are also scheduled to perform on stage during the show, so it won’t be surprising to see the husband-wife team on live TV together giving a great show.
The best new artist category features nominees Kendrick Lamar, James Blake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, as well as Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves. All of them have had a fine year and critics are split on the most likely winner. The Album of the Year is a stacked category with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Sara Bareilles, Kendrick Lamar, Daft Punk and Taylor Swift all vying for the coveted prize. In addition to hip hop, country artists are well represented at the live show this year. Taylor Swift has been nominated for best country song as well as best country album. The best solo pop performance category is very competitive. The five songs and their artists are as follows: Royals by Lorde, Brave by Sara Bareilles, Roar by Katy Perry, When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars, and Mirrors by Justin Timberlake.
2014 Grammy Performers
Former Beatles Ringo Star and Paul McCartney are being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for their work with the Beatles. They will make history by performing onstage. Macklemore & Lewis head the nominations with seven and are expected to give a standout performance during the evening. Seven time Grammy winner Swift will also grace the stage as she competes with a total of four nominations.
Musical entertainment will also be provided by perennial favorites John Legend, Keith Urban, and a special performance by Sara Bareilles with the legendary Carole King. Other musical guest are Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar, Metallica, Lorde, Pink, Katy Perry, Robin Thicke, and the incredible country sounds of Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson playing with this year’s current nominee Blake Shelton.
